I've seen so many people venture out into the entrepreneurial world for the first time and quickly retreat because of "fear".
Fear of failure.
Fear of what people will think.
Fear of rejection.
Fear.
But here's the deal: the only way you're going to expand your life and success is by conquering fear once and for all!
Now, I'm not saying to never be scared or nervous or whatever! NOT AT ALL! I'm saying that when you're faced with fear to go out and do it anyways! Maybe you're scared to pick up the phone and call prospects about your business opportunity. Or maybe you're scared to followup with them once they've seen a presentation on your opportunity. Whatever it is.
Wanna know the best way to get over it!?
It's simple.
When you're faced with fear. Do it anyway!
Make the calls. Do the followups. Like Nike says, Just do it!
And you'll find an amazing thing begin to happen. You will find that you aren't as scared about rejection as you once were, you aren't so worried about what people will think....why? Because you're too busy doing what you need to be doing that you don't have time to think about how scared you are!
Feel the fear, and do it anyway!
Recently I decided to really start exercising and so I've been hitting the gym pretty hard. I got a gym membership, started planning my diet, and even got a personal trainer! But you know what the hardest thing for me to do after getting all my ducks in a row was? To actually show up for the workouts!
I felt like everyone was looking at me when I walked through the door at Bally's; like everyone in there was looking down on me-"Look at that whimp! He doesn't belong in here!"
Guys, thoughts are powerful things! Be very careful about what you think!
Since I'd paid all this money I felt like I had to show up (my trainer says that tons of people pay his fees and still don't show up for their sessions! Amazing!). So I showed up for my first session extremely nervous. I still felt like everyone was staring at me as I started my little warm up. Everything in me was telling me to quit! But guess what!? After about 15 minutes of getting into my routine I stopped thinking about everyone else! I was too tired and too focused on what I was doing to care about all those other people!
2 brutal workout sessions later and I wasn't even noticing all the other meat heads milling about. My fear was gone!
It's the same way in this business! Getting started is the hardest part. So get over it and get on with it! Your goals are too important to let "fear" rob you of the success that you deserve!
