I wanted to wait a little longer before posting this to make sure I had full confirmation that Mark Smith, formerly of Prepaidlegal Services/Legal Shield (SM) had just vacated the company and followed his mentor, Jeff Olson over to Nerium International.

Today I can most definitely confirm that Mark Smith has quit PPL. 

I've had several industry friends reach out to me over the weekend to tell me the news and after a few phone calls, and online searches, including checking Mark's personal Facebook page I now have confirmed the news.

As to whether Mark has officially resigned his PPL position or not, those details are still unclear. But what is very clear is that PPL/Legal Shield has definitely gone through some significant personnel changes this year. 

I have a great amount of respect for Mark. He has done an incredible job with Team Freedom, making it the number 1 team in all of Prepaidlegal. In particular, I like the way he embraced the use of lead generation in his business. Mark invested heavily into lead generation and taught his team to purchase leads to help thembuild their business. 

He is an amazing recruiter and a phenomenal leader who will definitely be missed at Legal Shield (still trying to get used to that new name).

But what about Nerium International? With Jeff Olson and Mark Smith working together the company definitely has a great combination of proven field leaders who understand what it takes to build a true network marketing company.

It will be interesting to see how many of Legal Shield's leaders decide to defect to the new company and how many decide to stay. This is an industry that rises and falls on leadership and with Mark & Jeff both gone there will be some tremendous shoes to fill over at Legal Shield.

But I'm most interested in how Mark translates his lead generation and prospecting skills over into the Nerium structure. Mark understands that for the average distributor to win in this industry they must become profficient and prospecting and lead generation.

The old days of beating your friends and family to death (or until they join your MLM) are over.
