Why Buying Leads Will Help You Crush It With Online Marketing

So it may seem like an absolute contradiction to tell you to buy leads in order to improve your results with online/attraction marketing. For many of you, calling leads may bring remind you of personal situations like this....

 

Personally, I've probably spent 10's of thousands of dollars on leads, most of whom never signed up in my opportunity. My experience with calling leads may not be so much different from yours. But you know what? Calling leads was one of the best learning experiences of my entire career in the home-based business arena! "How so", you may ask?

 

 

It's simple. I got really good at picking up the phone and calling. I got so good at actually calling prospects that it became second nature for me. I've never been the best "closer" or the best  recruiter, but after calling thousands and thousands of leads I've never been scared to pick up the phone. This was a radical change in my business for me. For my first 3 years in network marketing I made a grand total of $ 50. You may be wondering how on earth I could have failed for so long...I'll tell you. I called 3 people for 3 years. I would call the same 3 people ALOT. I was terrified of picking up the phone and talking to people and so calling those 3 people for me was a big deal! 

I had the biggest phone fear you could ever imagine. For me the phone might as well have been a great white shark's mouth, ready and waiting to chomp my ear off if I got too close! 

So what helped me finally break through? 

Calling leads. It was that simple. I found a guy (Tom Challan-a good personal friend and great mentor of mine...he's also a freak of nature on the phone...) who was sponsoring 40 to 50 people a month through leads. He started sending me some "tire kicker" leads since I had no money to buy leads back then. And I started calling. Just the act of picking up the phone started to get easier and easier. Even though I wasn't sponsoring anyone into my business and I was steal dealing with people asking me if I was a pyramid scammer I actually started to get better!

By the time I discovered attraction marketing and online lead generation I was a sponsoring machine. So when I started generating leads and prospecting online, calling them and enrolling them in my business was an absolute cake-walk!

So if you're new to the industry or you're just getting started with some attraction marketing you absolutely MUST learn how to pick up the phone, develop repoirt with people, and guide them into either buying your products or enrolling in the business with you. If you think that you can just sit in a van and enroll people at the push of a button like our dear mountain man, David Wood, then you will be sorely disappointed. Even David will tell you - "Master the phone, dude!" 

Think about it. What's the point of generating a trillion leads a minute through your blog if you never actually pick up the phone and call them. A good number of leads may purchase your affiliate products, but I promise you they may never, ever join you in business unless you call them.

So why buy leads? There's nothing like actually doing the deed. I suggest investing in really, really cheap dirty, ugly, tire kicker leads. These are leads that have been sold to many different marketers and are "old". Your response rates will be low, but you know what each phone call you make will build your confidence and get you closer to being a master recruiter.

p.s. Don't be scared of "practice" in this business. I know everyone wants the results. The cars. The rolex's. The million dollar business. But you don't the results without getting good...and you don't get good without practice
