What Myspace Taught Me About Internet Marketing

When I first got into network marketing I burnt through my warm market soooo fast I quickly had no one left to talk to. I started looking around for ways to find more prospects and stumbled upon the idea of "buying leads" online. At the time I was in a company called Prepaidlegal. I wasn't making any money and it seemed like a good idea. All you had to do was spend hundreds to thousands of dollars for prospects, that would appear in your email inbox. I had nooo idea where these leads came from, but I started calling them in the hopes that some of them would sign up with me. I actually got a few people to sign up, but I was spending sooo much more money than I was making. I didn't feel like I was making any real progress. 

There just had to be another way!

And then things changed. I'll never forget it! This girl I liked told me to join a website called Myspace so that we could communicate a little better. I had no idea what Myspace was and at the time there were only about 20,000 members on the site. It was so lame to me, but I liked her so I joined. One day I decided to post a bulletin about my network marketing company, and was shocked when I started receiving emails in my inbox from people requesting more information about working with me and my network marketing company!

I started getting so many leads that I had to start sharing them with my team. 

That was when the lightbulb went on for me! 

What if I could learn how to generate my own leads online? I could recruit and build my business on autopilot!

That was when I fell in love with social media and realized the power that I had in my hands! The really cool thing I discovered was that the people who were responding to my marketing efforts online were already familiar with who I was, what I looked like, etc. because they had looked over my profile page. So when I called them it was sooo easy to talk to them over the phone, because they already felt a certain comfort level with me. 

I'll definitely be blogging a lot more and sharing the specific techniques I've used to recruit A TON of people through the internet so check back soon for more details!
